I did not know Sir Francis. Sir Francis was very<lb></lb>
inquisitive, they went towards the Infirmary, Sir<lb></lb>
Francis asked where they were going. I sayed to the<lb></lb>
Infirmary he sayd, I suppose we shall find a Stench<lb></lb>
there, I say'd you had better not go in then, when<lb></lb>
he came in he said, "What is this the Infirmary.<lb></lb>

Men besides Smith in the Infirmary, Sir Francis wanted<lb></lb>
to hold a Conversation with him, I said Sir you must<lb></lb>
Excuse me, We never suffer any body who visits the<lb></lb>
place to hold Conversation with the Prisoners, they<lb></lb>
would have been all Day going round the Prison<lb></lb>
if I had let them ask Questions as they were going<lb></lb>
on, they spoke to the Felons asked them questions<lb></lb>
the Felons all behaved very well and they say'd they<lb></lb>
were very well off and Contented. The Prisoners were<lb></lb>
going to have their Dinner, I shewed the Gentlemen<lb></lb>
the Meat and broth, Mr.. Courtney said it looked<lb></lb>
very well, Sir Francis said it smelt very well, and<lb></lb>
neither Sir Francis nor Mr.. Courtney or Mr.. Bosville<lb></lb>
ever saw the Cell Colonel Despard was Confined in<lb></lb>
