<p n="1850">the Jury were perfectly unanimous in their Verdict<lb></lb>
that he Tied a natural Death by the Visitation of<lb></lb>
God with which I was perfectly satisfied but a<lb></lb>
paper writing having been sent to me signed as<lb></lb>
I understand by some prisoners not those of the<lb></lb>
Jury I went again to the Prison and made<lb></lb>
every further possible Inquiry and had one of the<lb></lb>
persons who had signed the paper of the Name<lb></lb>
of Bone down and upon that further Inquiry<lb></lb>
I was then and still am perfectly satisfied the<lb></lb>
Verdict was fit and proper I have ever found<lb></lb>
the Prison Clean and perfect Orderly and never<lb></lb>
during the whole time that I have attended heard<lb></lb>
the least Complaint against the Governor Apothe-<lb></lb>
cary or any of the Officers attending that Prison<lb></lb>
I made it a Constant practice upon every<lb></lb>
Inquisition I took to address myself to those of<lb></lb>
the Jury who were Prisoners saying that they<lb></lb>
had a better opportunity of knowing and observing<lb></lb>
the Conduct of the above mentioned Persons and<lb></lb>
pressing them to tell me what they knew and if<lb></lb>
any thing improper had been done that I would<lb></lb>
take Care to give them proper protection against<lb></lb>
any ill usage they might receive in Consquence<lb></lb>
of any Declaration which they might make<lb></lb>
by an immediate Application to the Magistrates<lb></lb>
to cause them to be removed and I never heard<lb></lb>
any Complaint - I have never seen any<lb></lb>
thing in the Plan or Treatment unnecessarily<lb></lb>
