were never Confined in any Dark Cell, as stated in<lb></lb>
the Paper - Neagle was never ill as he describes<lb></lb>
nor was the Tub mentioned in the Paper, so near<lb></lb>
his Cell as to create any stench Kier was removed<lb></lb>
from his former Cell and put into another Cell<lb></lb>
for about five Weeks, in Consequence of his having<lb></lb>
drawn the Guillotine Etc. as before mentioned - that<lb></lb>
Evans having got up to the Window and talked<lb></lb>
improperly to the Persons under Sentence for Mutiny<lb></lb>
he was repremanded by me, and told if he did so<lb></lb>
again the shutters should be nailed up (which<lb></lb>
was all the Threat ever used) but he never was<lb></lb>
punished for it, nor was any other of them in any<lb></lb>
way ever corrected except that I had once given Jones<lb></lb>
a Mutineer who had behaved in a riotous manner<lb></lb>
a Stroke with a Cane I had in my hand and upon<lb></lb>
his turning seemingly with an intent to strike<lb></lb>
me I gave him a blow or two with my Fist,<lb></lb>
their relations were never refused access, that I<lb></lb>
know of, except Mrs.. Bone for endeavoring to<lb></lb>
excite a Riot on the outside of the Prison, and<lb></lb>
telling the Mob the Prisoners were starving, and<lb></lb>
Mrs.. Evans for waving her Handkerchief and<lb></lb>
making signals to the Mutineers - I stopped<lb></lb>
both of them coming into the Prison for about<lb></lb>
a Fortnight for so doing, but they were afterwards<lb></lb>
