<p n="1812">Whereas by Virtue of an Act of Parliament<lb></lb>
made in the Twelfth year of the Reign of His late Majesty<lb></lb>
King George the Second entitled "An Act for the move easy<lb></lb>
"Assessing Collecting and levying County Rates," the Justices<lb></lb>
of the peace in that part of Great Britain called <rs type="placeName" id="LMSMGO55611_geo1279">England</rs>
<interp inst="LMSMGO55611_geo1279" type="placeName" value="England"></interp>
<interp inst="LMSMGO55611_geo1279" type="type" value="undefined"></interp>
<lb></lb>
within the respective Limits of their Commission at their<lb></lb>
General or Quarter Sessions or the greater part of them then<lb></lb>
and there Assembled were Authorized and Empowered<lb></lb>
from time to time to make One General Rate or Assessment<lb></lb>
for such sum or Sums of Money as the Justices in<lb></lb>
their discretion should think sufficient to Answer all<lb></lb>
and every the ends and purposes mentioned in the<lb></lb>
said Act and Also by virtue of a certain other Act<lb></lb>
Parliament made and passed in the Thirty seventh<lb></lb>
Year of the Reign of his present Majesty King George the<lb></lb>
Third intitled. An Act for empowering the Justices of<lb></lb>

at their General<lb></lb>
"or Quarter Sessions of the Peace to make a fair and<lb></lb>
"equal county Rate for the said County". the Justices<lb></lb>
of the Peace for the said <rs type="placeName" id="LMSMGO55611_geo1281">county of Middlesex</rs>

General or Quarter Sessions Assembled were empowered<lb></lb>
Authorized and required from time time to Assess<lb></lb>
and Tax all and every Parish Town Liberty<lb></lb>

county rateably in equal proportions according to<lb></lb>
the Annual Rent or Value of Estates within such<lb></lb>
Parish Town Liberty Precinct Village Hamlet and<lb></lb>
Place respectively and in Order the better to enable<lb></lb>
the said <rs type="occupation" id="LMSMGO55611_occ676">Justices of the peace</rs>

for the said County of Middx<lb></lb>
to Assess and Tax rateably and in equal proportion all<lb></lb>

Villages Hamlets and Places the Churchwardens and<lb></lb>

of the said several Parishes Towns,<lb></lb>
Liberties Precincts Villages Hamblets and Places were<lb></lb>
by the said Act required to make a Return in Writing<lb></lb>
upon Oath to the said Justices in Session Assembled<lb></lb>
of the Total Amount of the Rental or Value of the<lb></lb>
Estates within the Parish Town Liberty Precinct,<lb></lb>
Village, Hamlet or Place to which they should<lb></lb>
respectively belong Now Forasmuch as it<lb></lb>
Appeareth unto this Court that more than Three<lb></lb>
fourths of the Money of the last Rate made in<lb></lb>
Session last being the last proceeding Rate hath been paid</p>
