with Bread attended the Court and presented the following Petition Etc<lb></lb>

<p n="3820">Gentlemen</p>
<p n="3821">Your Petitioner hopes you will take into consideration<lb></lb>
the difficultys the Bakers have labour'd under for this last Six Months<lb></lb>
and I hope you will not take the Discount of my Bills for the Bread<lb></lb>
delird. into the Prisons this last Quarter, it you look over the following<lb></lb>
Account you will see that Flour has not been less then 70sh. and from<lb></lb>
that to 84sh P Sack and now it is 73sh. P Sack. and oure Profits have not<lb></lb>
been more than 1 P Sack upon an Average, and the Discount amounts to<lb></lb>
5sh P Sack, then there is only 2s. P Sack profit to find Salt yeast and<lb></lb>

, So Gentlemen if you give it one single thought you<lb></lb>
will see it is impossible for me to allow the Discount to do Justice to the<lb></lb>
Prisoners the County and myself. And I further hope you will be<lb></lb>
so kind as to sign the two Bills as I may receive the remainder<lb></lb>
of may Money, and you will oblige Yrs Etc.</p>

<p n="3823">And the same being read the Court proceeded to the consideration thereof<lb></lb>
and having heard the said Michael Shiers in support of his said<lb></lb>
Petition Resolved that 2½ P Cent be taken from the Allowance of 7½<lb></lb>
P Cent and that in future the Discount to be Allowed by the Baker he<lb></lb>
£5 P Cent only.</p>
<p n="3824">Mr Shiers being called in and acquainted with the above<lb></lb>
determination of the Court say'd that he must decline serving the<lb></lb>
Prisoners with Bread any longer as he could not afford to do it and<lb></lb>
allow a discount of £5 P Cent.</p>
