Whereas by an Act of Parliament lately passed Intituled an<lb></lb>
Act of authorize for a limited time the Punishment by hard<lb></lb>
labour of offenders who for certain Crimes <obscured></obscured>
or shall become<lb></lb>
liable to be Transported to any of his Majesty's Colonies or<lb></lb>
Plantations: His Majesty's Justices of the Peace for the<lb></lb>

of the Peace are directed to appoint an Overseer or Overseers to<lb></lb>
take the Management and directions of such Male persons<lb></lb>
as by virtue of and pursuant to the said Statute shall at any<lb></lb>
Session of Oyer and Terminer or Goal delivery or at any Quarter<lb></lb>
or other General Session of the Peace for any County Riding<lb></lb>
Division City Liberty Borough Town or place within that part<lb></lb>
of Great Britain Called England or any Court held for the same<lb></lb>
place with like authority be ordered and adjudged to be punished<lb></lb>
by being kept to hard Labour in the raising Sand Soil and<lb></lb>
Gravel from and Cleansing the <rs type="placeName" id="LMSMGO55607_geo588">River Thames</rs>
