was the opinion of the Committee that the Clause in the said Bill<lb></lb>
"which vested a power in the Commissioners to remove Nuisances<lb></lb>
"Annoyances and Obstructions and otherwise regulate such<lb></lb>
"Streets and places as have not been already new paved" tended<lb></lb>
to divest the Justices of their Interest in and authority over the<lb></lb>

of the Committee attending the meeting of the Commissioners<lb></lb>

<interp inst="LMSMGO55607_geo505" type="type" value="undefined"></interp>
and objected to the Clause above<lb></lb>
mentiones as highly injurious to the Interest of the County<lb></lb>
and proposed it to the Commissioners that these words vizt. the<lb></lb>

always excepted. should be added to<lb></lb>
the Clause but that the Commissioners refused to admit such<lb></lb>
addition however Mr. Brereton of the Commissioners<lb></lb>
draw up a Clause which the rest of the Commissioners agreed<lb></lb>
to insert in the Bill at the same time protesting they would<lb></lb>
not give their Consent to any other but the Committee thinking<lb></lb>
this Clause not sufficiently Comprehensive they resolved to<lb></lb>
oppose every part of the Bill in its progress thro' Parliament<lb></lb>
and the following Gentleman immediately pledged themselves<lb></lb>
in Case it should become necessary to subscribe such a Sum<lb></lb>
as is Placed against each of their Names towards defraying<lb></lb>
the Expence of such opposition Vizt.</p>
