<p n="50">An Act of Parliament having been made in the present Year of his present<lb></lb>
Majesty King George the third authorizing and empowering His Majesty is<lb></lb>
Justices of the Peace or the Major part of them Assembled at the Quarter Session<lb></lb>
held for any County Riding or Division within that part of Great Britain called<lb></lb>
England to settle and ascertain how many Clergymen shall be necessary to be<lb></lb>
employed in performing Religious Duties according to the Rites of the Church of<lb></lb>
the Church of England in the several Goals within their respective Jurisdictions<lb></lb>
and to settle and ascertain what Duty shall be performed and what Salary shall<lb></lb>
be paid to every such Clergyman not exceeding Fifty Pounds Yearly and every<lb></lb>
Year directing also such salaries to be paid out of the Rates of such County<lb></lb>
Riding or Division And further authorizing and impowering the said<lb></lb>
Justices (the number of Clergymen and Salary or Salaries having been so<lb></lb>
as aforesaid settled and ascertained) to nominate and appoint Clergymen<lb></lb>
for the above purposes and in case of Death or Death of any such Clergyman</p>
