done to Hicks Hall</p>
<p n="967">That in consequence of the Order of Session of the 21st. Octr.<lb></lb>
the Committee having taken into consideration the present<lb></lb>
State of the building called <rs type="placeName" id="LMSMGO55605_geo859">Hicks Hall</rs>
<interp inst="LMSMGO55605_geo859" type="placeName" value="Hicks Hall"></interp>
<interp inst="LMSMGO55605_geo859" type="type" value="undefined"></interp>
It appeared to them as<lb></lb>
well from their own view as from the Report of Mr. Rogers the<lb></lb>
Surveyor that the same is all in a very decayed ruinous condition<lb></lb>
except the Foundations which upon inspection appeared to be<lb></lb>
perfectly Sound and of sufficient dimensions both in depth and<lb></lb>
thickness, The great inconveniency and want of room so much<lb></lb>
complained of by several of the Magistrates, have likewise been<lb></lb>
considered by the Committee and it appears to them that they<lb></lb>
arise from an improper distribution in the forming of the several<lb></lb>
parts of the present building whereby too great a share of the<lb></lb>
business is necessarily confined to the ground flour and too small a<lb></lb>
part to the upper Floor</p>
<p n="968">The Committee therefore think it expedient that the present<lb></lb>
Court Room should be moved and the whole of the Ground Floor</p>
