And this Court are of Opinion that the apprehending Beggars

being the imediate Duty and Bussiness of the Deadles of the

Public; therefore the County Money ought not to be disposed of to

such Beadles for the apprehending Beggars, as it is very unreasonable

and for want of such Conformity, this County hath been put to the Expence

of near £150 the last year; but this Court considering the Artifices of the

Constables and other under Officers, who have by indirect Practises

accumulated large Sums of the public Money to their own use, are

willing to ascribe the Noncomplaince of such Magistrates rather to the
