A Report being made unto this Court by the Committee of His Majesty's<lb></lb>

of this County appointed to Examine what Benefit hath<lb></lb>
arisen to this County from an Order of Sessions, dated the 14th. of July 1757.<lb></lb>
relating to the Apprehending and Conveying Vagrants from and though<lb></lb>
this County; and also to Consider of a further Proposel from <rs type="persName" id="LMSMGO55604_n999-2">James Sturges<lb></lb>

, relating to the conveying of Vagrants from the North, East and West<lb></lb>
Parts of this County to their respive Settlements and forwarding those whose<lb></lb>
Destination is through this County, It appeareth to this Court by the said<lb></lb>
Report That the said Committee had examined the sevd. Orders for conveying<lb></lb>
Vagabonds from July 1756 to July 1757 being the Year proceeding the<lb></lb>
Regulations made by the said Order of Sessions. And also the Order for<lb></lb>
Paying the Rewards to the Apprehenders of Vagabonds by the stat. of the<obscured></obscured>
<lb></lb>
of the King confining themselves to those Orders that are dated between the<lb></lb>
said July 1756 and July 1757. numbering the said Orders of Conveying for the<lb></lb>
more easy referring to them, and seperating the Orders of the respective<lb></lb>
Magistrates for paying the Rewards, that they also may be more readily<lb></lb>
referred to; An abstract of which Orders is as follows.<lb></lb>

<p n="1000">This most Extraordinary and apparent growing Expence, induced the<lb></lb>
Sessions to appoint a Commee to inquire into the Cause from whence it<lb></lb>
arose: and also to Consider and Report some Method to case the<lb></lb>
County in the Respect: which the said Commee having done one the<lb></lb>
21st. April 1757. it produced an Order of Session dated the 14th. day of July<lb></lb>
1757. containing a Contract for conveying Vagrants from and through<lb></lb>
this County, and other Matters relating to the Conduct of the<lb></lb>
Magistrates of this County, which Order of Sessions was received<lb></lb>
and Adopted by the Magistrates of the <rs type="placeName" id="LMSMGO55604_geo1427">City and Liberty of Westminster</rs>

That the Commee spare any Reflections upon the before mentioned<lb></lb>
Account referring the Sessions for the Necessary Remarks thereon to the<lb></lb>
said Report of April 21st. 1757 That they then proceeded to Examine and<lb></lb>
State the County Expence on the same Account from July One thousd<lb></lb>
Seven hundred and fifty Seven to July One thousand Seven hundred and<lb></lb>
Fifty seven to July One thousand Seven hundred and fifty Eight<lb></lb>
Observing the same Method as before mentioned only Noting as they<lb></lb>
proceeded the Sums of Money paid contrary to the Sd. Order of Sessions.</p>
