pounds Should be advanced & paid unto Mr. Charles Marquand<lb></lb>

allowed one pennyworth<lb></lb>
of bread every day, and for<lb></lb>
Mr. Saml. Jaycock Baker to<lb></lb>
provide the Same, And to<lb></lb>
be paid for the bread by the<lb></lb>
County Treasurer}</note>
Whereas by an Order made at the last General Quarter<lb></lb>
Session of the peace holden for the County of Middx by Adjornment<lb></lb>
on Thursday the fifteenth day of October in the year of our Lord<lb></lb>
1741 It was (amongst other things) upon Several reasons<lb></lb>
therein Setforth Ordered that the Keeper of the House of<lb></lb>
<rs type="placeName" id="LMSMGO55601_geo2271">Correction at Clerkenwell</rs>

in the Said County Should on every<lb></lb>
day from the eighteenth day of the Same Month of October<lb></lb>
allow & pay unto every Prisoner committed or to be committed to<lb></lb>
his Custody as Keeper of the Said House untill the time of<lb></lb>
Such Prisoner's being discharged one penny each day for<lb></lb>
Such Prisoner's relief & Subsistance during his or her<lb></lb>
imprisonment,<gap reason="illegible"></gap>
<lb></lb>

And that the Said Keeper Should be<lb></lb>
reimbursed the Same in Such manner as is therein<lb></lb>
mentioned, And whereas it hath been Represented unto this<lb></lb>
Court That in Order to prevent the Prisoners in the Said House<lb></lb>
of Correction from Spending the Said one penny a day in<lb></lb>
Geneva or other hot permicious liquors It will be much better<lb></lb>
that in Stead of the Said one penny a day to the respective<lb></lb>
Prisoners,one pennyworth of bread be allowed and distributed<lb></lb>
every day to each Prisoner during his or her confinement in the<lb></lb>
Said House of Correction which allowance at in bread may<lb></lb>
conduce much more to their health & nourishment This</p>
