Upon reading the Report of William Cotesworth Senr Thomas<lb></lb>
West and <rs type="persName" id="LMSMGO55600_n453-1">Philip Willshire</rs>

Esqrs three of his Maties Justices of<lb></lb>
the peace of this County being of the Comittee appointed by<lb></lb>
an Order of Court made in April Sessions 1726 to take to their<lb></lb>
Assistance some Engineer or such able Workmen as they should<lb></lb>
think fit and to take a view of such part of a publique Bridge<lb></lb>
called <rs type="placeName" id="LMSMGO55600_geo354">Chertsea bridge</rs>

as is in this County, and to see if any and<lb></lb>
what repaires were wanting and necessary to be done thereto,<lb></lb>
and to make an estimate of what it would cost to repair the same,<lb></lb>
It appeareth to this Court that the said three Justices of the<lb></lb>
peace together with <rs type="persName" id="LMSMGO55600_n453-2">William Ogbourne</rs>

and severall able<lb></lb>
workmen well recomended and capable of performing the said<lb></lb>
Worke have taken a view of the said Bridge, and doe find the<lb></lb>
same to be much damaged by the great floods last Winter and<lb></lb>
so very much decayed by the rottenness of the piles which did<lb></lb>
support the said Bridge that a great part thereof is broken<lb></lb>
downe and wholly impassable for carriages Etc and an<lb></lb>
immediate repair or rebuilding is absolutely necessary which<lb></lb>
said repaires or rebuilding will want the materialls and<lb></lb>
Workmanship (the particulars whereof are hereunto annexed)<lb></lb>
And in the Opinion of the said Justices the Workmen who are to<lb></lb>
perform the same will deserve the Sume of six hundred and fifty<lb></lb>
pounds or thereabouts, And the said Workmen desire that what<lb></lb>
Sume or Sumes they shall contract for (they giveing sufficient<lb></lb>
security) be advanced to them as followeth (vizt.) one third part<lb></lb>
of the whole Sume contracted for to be advanced to them at the<lb></lb>
execution of the Articles for carrying on the said Worke, one third<lb></lb>
part more thereof when the said Bridge shall be wholly plankt,<lb></lb>
and the other third part residue and remainder thereof when the<lb></lb>
said worke shall be fully compleated and finished to the satisfaction<lb></lb>
of such Gentleman as the Court shall appoint to survey the<lb></lb>
same, As by the said Report relation being thereunto had way<lb></lb>
at large appeare, This Court upon consideration had of the<lb></lb>
premisses Is of opinion that such part of the said Bridge as<lb></lb>
is in this County be forthwith repaired, And for that end and</p>
