In Obedience to his Majesty's comands signified by your Lordship<lb></lb>
We the Justices of the peace for the <rs type="placeName" id="LMSMGO40000_geo538">County of Middlesex</rs>

<interp inst="LMSMGO40000_geo538" type="type" value="undefined"></interp>
have<lb></lb>
Made the most diligent Enquiry and search, in Order to Discover<lb></lb>
any Society's of Persons who have been guilty of blasphemy or<lb></lb>
any other in or mity's mentioned in his Majesty's late Declaracon<lb></lb>
in Council, but not being able by the several publick<lb></lb>
Advertisements We have caused to be put into the Gazetts<lb></lb>
and by all the other Measures we have taken to find out<lb></lb>
every such Clubs or Persons, or that there have been any<lb></lb>
such Assemblys within our jurisdiction we can only assure<lb></lb>
your Lordship that we will on all Occasions endeavour<lb></lb>
with the utmost diligence and zeal to detect and bring to <lb></lb>
punishment such desperate Wretches, who in defiance <lb></lb>
of the Laws of God and man shall presume to commit<lb></lb>
such horrid Impieties</p>
<p n="789">We think ourselves also Obliged by the Directions from<lb></lb>
his Majesty to represent to your Lordship that according<lb></lb>
to the best Observations we have been capable of making<lb></lb>
the Prophaneness and Debancery which prevails and<lb></lb>
increases in this Town and County proceeds chiefly from<lb></lb>
the Mascorades and Gameing Houses and from the<lb></lb>
increase of Play Houses and Publick houses of all<lb></lb>
sorts in all parts of the Town, and also from the<lb></lb>
difficulties, which attend the presemtion and Suppression<lb></lb>
of them</p>
<p n="790">We find by experience that Vice and Immorality have<lb></lb>
increased among all Degrees of Persons together with<lb></lb>
these Nusances which have a natural tendency to<lb></lb>
corrupt the principles and morals of those who frequent<lb></lb>
them, And his Notorious, that all these Evils goe on <lb></lb>
increasing, notwithstanding the means that have been<lb></lb>
used to put a stop to them. There are now no less than<lb></lb>
four Houses for acting Plays and Operas and there<lb></lb>
are also new Gameing Houses erected at <rs type="placeName" id="LMSMGO40000_geo539">Bellsize and</rs>
