That Complaint having been made unto this Court at the<lb></lb>

this County then present that he had Severall Ways<lb></lb>
oppressed them by colour of his Office and more especially <lb></lb>
had Exacted moneys for discharging them from their <lb></lb>
Imprisonment which were particularly set forth in<lb></lb>
their Petition to the said Court thereby praying their<lb></lb>
Opinion touching the matters in the said Petition <lb></lb>
contained Upon which the said Mr Booth desired two<lb></lb>
days time to be heard touching the matters aforesaid<lb></lb>
when (vizt.) the Fourth day of September last the Peticoners <lb></lb>
and Mr. Booth appeared with their Witnesses on both<lb></lb>
sides who were examined and the parties themselves<lb></lb>
fully heard and it appeared unto us that Mrs. Manley had<lb></lb>
been beaten by one <rs type="persName" id="LMSMGO40000_n545-5">Jane Vaughan</rs>

complained thereof to Mr. Booth the next Justice of the <lb></lb>
Peace who issued his Warrant against the Servant had<lb></lb>
her brought before him thereupon to his house in<lb></lb>

did fully hear the Complaint of Mrs.<lb></lb>
Manley and the Servants defence And committed the<lb></lb>
Servant to <rs type="placeName" id="LMSMGO40000_geo353">New Prison</rs>

<interp inst="LMSMGO40000_geo353" type="type" value="undefined"></interp>
for beating her Mistress and<lb></lb>
for want of Sureties, where she continued for two<lb></lb>
days and then was admitted to Bail and discharged<lb></lb>
from her Imprisonment by Mr. Booth.</p>
<p n="546">That at the time of such discharge he received the<lb></lb>
Servants complaint against her Master and Mistress<lb></lb>
issued his Warrant against them thereupon had them<lb></lb>
brought before him and demanded Sureties for their</p>
