<p n="243">unavoidably striking against the Pier head of the second Lock of the<lb></lb>
said Bridge made her immediately swing round and strike against the<lb></lb>
Pier head of the third Lock of the said Bridge which with the Rage of<lb></lb>
the Tide from Sea occasioned the said Lighter Boat to turn Bottom<lb></lb>
upwards and sink in the said River by which means the said One<lb></lb>
hundred and Sixty four Bushells of Salt so delivered from the<lb></lb>
said Ship or Vessell did parish and was last in the said River in the<lb></lb>
said Port of London in manner aforesaid by the said Rage of the Tide<lb></lb>
from Sea And this Deponent further saith that the Loss of the said Salt<lb></lb>
was not occasioned by any Leekage of the said Lighter Boat or by any<lb></lb>
Negligence or Default of him this Deponent who was Master of the<lb></lb>

that he was present when the said Salt was delivered on Board the<lb></lb>
said Lighter Boat and that he was standing on the Gunnell of the<lb></lb>
said Ship or Vessell and saw the said Lighter Boat strike against the<lb></lb>
said Bridge in manner aforesaid and sink in the said River and saith<lb></lb>
that from the Observation he could make on the Conduct of the said<lb></lb>
other Deponent James Helly he this Deponent verily believes that<lb></lb>
