the beginning of this Instant March a Person now present who calls<lb></lb>

applied to this Informant; that the<lb></lb>
then said that his Name was <rs type="persName" id="LMSLPS15069_n161-1">sneyd</rs>

; that he desired this Informant<lb></lb>
to engrave him a promisary Note for value received, a Copy of which<lb></lb>
he gave him, which he accordingly executed; but says that the said<lb></lb>
Vaughan otherwise Sneyd did not approve of it, and that the following<lb></lb>
was one of his Objections Vizt. that the Word on in the second Line in<del>the</del>
<lb></lb>
a Copy of an engraved Note now produced should have been at the end<lb></lb>
of the first Line; that on his requiring several other alterations to be made<lb></lb>
this Informant advised him to have a fresh plate<gap reason="illegible"></gap>
engraved; that<lb></lb>
the said Vaughan, alias Sneyd, conserted to it, and gave this Informant<lb></lb>
Instructions accordingly. And says that he<gap reason="illegible"></gap>
caused the said Plate to<lb></lb>
be engraved; and that the Proof now produced was printed from the said<lb></lb>
Plate. Says that the said Plate was deliverd to the said Vaughan alias<lb></lb>
Sneyd, And this Informant farther says that some Days after the said<lb></lb>
Plate was deliver'd the said Vaughan, alias sneyd, come to this Informant<lb></lb>
and told him that the said<gap reason="illegible"></gap>
last mentioned Plate wou'd not do and<lb></lb>
that it was given away, and that he must have another done, says that<lb></lb>
he call'd the next Day on this Informant and brought the Copy of a Note<lb></lb>
which he desired to be engraved. And says that he this Informant look<lb></lb>
off an Impression of the said Copy on a wep'd Plate now produced,<lb></lb>
and says that he then told the said Vaughan, alias sneyd, that the Copy<lb></lb>
then produced had the Resemblance of a Bank Note and that he did not<lb></lb>
cheese to engrave it. Says that the said Vaughan alias Sneyd then<lb></lb>
told him that he was a Man of Character, that there was no harm<lb></lb>
in it, that he had asked the Advice of a Council</p>
