sake of Justice to the public) give his Assistance in pursuing and taking<lb></lb>
him and when he was taken he this Deponent advised Mr. Gervaise to Prosecute the Law against him and accordingly went with<del>the Prosecution</del>

him before the Sitting Alderman at <rs type="placeName" id="LMSLPS15061_geo183">Guildhall</rs>

and entered into a Recoginz<lb></lb>
to Appear at the then next Session of Gaol Delivery of <rs type="placeName" id="LMSLPS15061_geo184">Newgate</rs>

to give Evidence against the said Needham And this Deponent<lb></lb>
further saith that pursuant to the Condition of such Recognizance<lb></lb>
he attended and gave his Evidence to the Grand Jury at <rs type="placeName" id="LMSLPS15061_geo185">Guildhall</rs>

in<lb></lb>
October session last upon an Indictment against the said Needham<lb></lb>
for the abovementioned Felony and likewise Attended afterward at<lb></lb>
this Place on two Days in order to give his Evidence to the Honble<lb></lb>
Court there on the Trial and did not on either of those Days hear<lb></lb>
himself called fort that purpose nor could he see the Prosecutor Attending But<lb></lb>
this Deponent hath been lately informed by the Prosecutor<lb></lb>
that the Trial of the Cause came on very Suddenly and that<lb></lb>
this Deponent was called to give Evidence against the Petrs.<lb></lb>
(who notwithstanding this Deponents absence<gap reason="illegible"></gap>
and the want of his<lb></lb>
Testimony, was Convicted as this Depont. is credibly Informed) And lastly<lb></lb>
this Deponent Saith that his absence at that time was not by<obscured></obscured>
<lb></lb>
any wilfull Default or neglect but entirely thro' ignorance<obscured></obscured>
