near Bethlem in behalf of Our Selves and others our Neighbours.</p>

That an Inquisition hath been lately taken before Coroner of the said City by<lb></lb>
Virtue of a Writ of Ad Quod Dampnum lately sued out of his Majesties high Court of<lb></lb>
Chancery by the Mayor Comonality and Citizens of London and your Peticoners are Informed<lb></lb>
the Coroner hath Returned That it will be of no damage to our Sovereign Lord the King<lb></lb>
nor to any other If his Majesty Should Grant Leave to the said Mayor Comonality and<lb></lb>
Citizens to Inclose a Publick Footway lying and being between the Brick Wall<lb></lb>
of the Garden of the Hospital of Bethlem on the South Part and Moorfield son<lb></lb>
the North part in the Parish of St. Stephen Coleman Street leading from Moregate<lb></lb>
Road to Brokers Row and if another publick Footway be made fifty foot<lb></lb>
northward of the said Way to be Inclosed leading from and to the place<lb></lb>
aforesaid Through Moorfield aforesaid.</p>
<p n="181">That your Petitioners further Shaw That the said Way or space of<lb></lb>
Ground so to be Inclosed as aforesaid was (amongst other things) by this late Majesty<lb></lb>
King Charles the first by Letter Patents bearing date the fourteenth year of his said<lb></lb>
Majesties Reign granted to the said Mayor Comonality and Citizens of London to be used<lb></lb>
by them for Comon and Publick uses only asit had formerly been And for no other uses<lb></lb>
and purposes whatsoever and it is by the said Letters Patents expressly provided<lb></lb>
that his said Majesty his Heir sand Successors would not themselves Erector Cause<lb></lb>
or Permit to be Erected in or upon the said way or Space of Ground (called in the said<lb></lb>
Letters Patents by the name of Inner Moorfield) any new Messuages House or<lb></lb>
Ereccons whatsoever or to that or the like Effects as by the said Letters<lb></lb>
Patents relation being thereunto had more plainly and fully it may & will appear</p>
<p n="182">That your Petitioners are advised That such Intended Inclosure of the said<lb></lb>
Way or space of Ground lying and being in the said Inner Moorfields is Expressly<lb></lb>
contrary to the Woods and Intention of his said Majesties said Grand thereof to the<lb></lb>
said Mayor Comonality and Citizens of the said City and that your said Petitioners<lb></lb>
Infringed by such Intended Inclosure.</p>
<p n="183">Wherefore and for that your Petitioners are Inhabitants at Each End<lb></lb>
of the said Road near Bethlem and in Fore street and very much grieved by the<lb></lb>
said Inquisition and Return made to the said Writ of Ad Quod Dampnum<lb></lb>
and in the Execution thereof do most humbly appeal to your Honour and<lb></lb>
Worships from and against the said Inquisition Return and Proceedings<lb></lb>
on the said Writ Pursuant to an Act of Parliament in such Cases lately<lb></lb>
made and Provided) and Pray they may be heard touching the Premisses and have<lb></lb>
such releif therein as to your Honour and Worships shall seem meet.</p>
<p n="184">And Your Petitioners shall ever Pray Etc.</p>
