be tyed in soe many Knotts that he was faine to gett a Knife to suit it<lb></lb>
Thereupon this Informt. Examined the said <rs type="persName" id="LMSLPS15008_n474-1">John Branson</rs>

the manner of the Robbery who said that betweene 3 and 4 of the<lb></lb>
Clock that Morneing a Man Knocket at the Chamber doore<lb></lb>
whereupon he putt on his Night Gowne and Slippers and went to the<lb></lb>
doore and demanding who was there the Person without said he<lb></lb>
came with a Letter from Coll Perry for this Informt. and that thereupon<lb></lb>
he opened the doore and held it in his hand to receive the Letter but<lb></lb>
the Person without rushed in upon him and tooke him by the Coller<lb></lb>
of his Shirt and swore he would kill him if he made any Noyse<lb></lb>
and imediately pulled out a Pistoll or other Gunn out of his<lb></lb>
Pockett and presented it to his head and the said Person tooke a<lb></lb>
handkercher out of his owne Pockett and bound it over the said<lb></lb>
Bransons Eyes and at the same time bound his hands behind him<lb></lb>
his Night Gowne being then on and then ledd him downe Staires<lb></lb>
into his Chamber and laid him on the Bedd and threw the<lb></lb>
Cloathes over him and salt by him whilst another person (who<lb></lb>
came in after the said Branson was bound and before he was ledd<lb></lb>
into his Chamber) broake open the Chamber doore Cabinett and<lb></lb>
Chest of Drawers as aforesaid and that the Robbers stayed in the<lb></lb>
Chamber about an hour and this Informt. askeing him why he<lb></lb>
did not at first cry out and why he say from about 5 when the<lb></lb>
Rogues were gone till 7 of the Clock without crying out or<lb></lb>
giveing notice of the said Robbery there being persons in ye. next<lb></lb>
Chamber and also in the Chamber over head & the Temple watch<lb></lb>
being in the next staire Case but one (and his Leggs being at<lb></lb>
liberty) he replyed that he was afraid for that he did not<lb></lb>
know that the said Robbers were gone</p>
