Doe prsent</p>
<p n="94">That greate numbers of loose idle & ill disposed persons from all partes of this<lb></lb>
kingdome doe resorte unto this City & partes adiacent And doe here shelter themselves<lb></lb>
not following any lawfull callings or employmts. And haveing noe visible estates or honest<lb></lb>
way to mainteyne themselves doe turne Robbers on the highway Burglarers Pickpockets<lb></lb>
and Gainesters<gap reason="illegible"></gap>
that follow other unlawfull wayes to supporte themselves<lb></lb>
And to mainteyne their Vices & Debancheries not onely to the will example of others<lb></lb>
but alsoe to the greate damage of their Maties. honest & industrious Subjects<lb></lb>
For prvention whereof Wee doe humbly represent it to the serious consideration<lb></lb>
of yor. Lopp. & this Honble. Courte That some expedient may be found out<lb></lb>
and that an effectuall & dilligent search may be made in this City & the partes<lb></lb>
adiacent for the discovery of such lewd idle & daingerous Persons And more<lb></lb>
especially for such as are able & young and fitt to serve their Maties. in the Warrs<lb></lb>
abroad against the comon Enemy.</p>
<p n="95">And that this honble. Courte would be pleased soe farr as in them her<lb></lb>
to endeavour the obtaining an effectuall Law to compell them soe to doe<lb></lb>
Which Wee doe humbly conceive will not only be highly serviceable to<lb></lb>
their Maties. But will alsoe be a greate meanes to prvent Robberies Fellonies<lb></lb>
Burglaries & other Crimes & misdemeanors wch. doe daily abound in & neere this City<lb></lb>
And doe bring many Young & able Persons to untimely ends by the hands of Justice<lb></lb>
