<p n="2753">Who being upon Oath Saith that upon Thursday the twenty fifth day<lb></lb>
of September last between the hours of five and Six o' clock in<lb></lb>
the Evening of the same day, an Hatt of the Value of Sixteen Shillings,<lb></lb>
and intirely now from the Shop was brought to him by a Persons<lb></lb>
who appeared to be a <rs type="occupation" id="LMOBPS45027_occ786">Seafaring shaw</rs>

now here present and who<obscured></obscured>
aws himself over Gibson in order to have such Hatt<lb></lb>
cooked and Cooped, and Who left the said Hatt with this Informant<lb></lb>
for such purpose :That this Informant having a strong<lb></lb>
suspicion that such Hatt was stolen, made Enquiring among<lb></lb>
several Master Hatters, Whether or not any of them had lost<lb></lb>
such a Hatt, when one Mr. <rs type="persName" id="LMOBPS45027_n2753-1">William Hatters</rs>

Upper East Smith field, having missed an Hatt, upon<gap reason="illegible"></gap>

the Hatt being described to him by this Informant, (and being this<lb></lb>
same Hatt left with this Informant by the Prisoner) owned<lb></lb>
such Hatt to be his property, and swore that the same had<lb></lb>
been felonionsly stolen out of his said shop, by some person<lb></lb>
or persons unknown : And this Informant saith that when<lb></lb>
such person called upon him for the Said Hatt. he this<lb></lb>
Informant caused him to be<gap reason="illegible"></gap>
apprehended and<lb></lb>
carried as to the Public office in <rs type="placeName" id="LMOBPS45027_geo2074">Lower shadwell</rs>
