taken and made on Oath before me one of his Majesty's<lb></lb>
Justices of the Peace in and for the said County the<lb></lb>
25th. day of September 1782.</p>
<p n="1750">This Informant on his Oath Saith That as he was going<lb></lb>
home from <rs type="placeName" id="LMOBPS45026_geo1229">Edmonton Fair</rs>

on Tuesday the 17th. day of September<lb></lb>
Instant about half an Hour after Nine OClock at night he<lb></lb>
was over taken on the road between the Bird Cage at <rs type="placeName" id="LMOBPS45026_geo1230">Stamford<lb></lb>
Hill</rs>

by a Man who Struck him over<lb></lb>
the head with a Stick, This Informant immediately turned<lb></lb>
round and asked him what it was that he struck for, he made<lb></lb>
no Answer, but struck again with the Stick on the right Arm<lb></lb>
then Informant struck at him with his hand and Knocked<lb></lb>
him down, and immediately another man came up this<lb></lb>
Informant and drew a Hanger or Cutlass his Face and hand<lb></lb>
Informant at many different place over his Face and hand<lb></lb>

which that was doing the man he had before Knocked down<lb></lb>

up and Immediately Knocked this Informant down<lb></lb>
again and repeatedly by beat him over the head body and Arms<lb></lb>
in a violent manner till he was almost dead and then<lb></lb>

him after having taken from his person one half<lb></lb>
Crown piece a Sixpence some half pence and a knife<lb></lb>
