taken before us this 29th. day of August 1781.</p>
<p n="1627">Who being on Oath says on Sunday Evening the fifth of<lb></lb>
August instant about a quarter past nine o Clock, as<lb></lb>
he was coming to Town on Horseback, he was stopped by<lb></lb>
three Men about thirty Yards beyond the Halfway House<lb></lb>
between <rs type="placeName" id="LMOBPS45024_geo1065">London</rs>

. That one of the said<lb></lb>
Men came up on the right side of his Horse with either<lb></lb>
a Cutlass or Hanger in his hand, and demanded his Watch<lb></lb>
and Money; that a Second came on the left side of his<lb></lb>
Horse, presented a Pistol to his head, and made use of<lb></lb>
some threats; that the third man who was <rs type="persName" id="LMOBPS45024_n1627-1">Joseph<lb></lb>

Informants declaring that he would not be robbed<lb></lb>
and that he would Shoot them if they did not leave<lb></lb>
him:, they ran away; when this Informant pursued<lb></lb>
