Landlord Earnest, carry, on their Joint Trade therein<lb></lb>
with a Joint Stock as Partners for more thatn Two<lb></lb>
Months-They differ, and part, One continues in the<lb></lb>
same House and Trade, the other becomes a pauper,<lb></lb>
and is past to the Parish where he served the last<lb></lb>
40 days of his Apprenticeship</p>

If the Pauper did or did not gain a Settlemt<lb></lb>
in the Parish where he Join thy Rented this<lb></lb>
Tenement at £14 P annum?<lb></lb>
This Question came before the Court of Kings Bench<lb></lb>
about 7 Years age, where it was determined that<lb></lb>
neither had gained a Settlemt by such Renting<lb></lb>
for if two, by the same reason 20, might, which<lb></lb>
is contrary to the Intent of the but, under which<lb></lb>
it has been held, to be necessary that every per<lb></lb>
son should have sufficient Credit to take a Tenemt<lb></lb>
of 10£ to gain a Settlemt & it cant be said in this<lb></lb>
Case that either had such Credit. and the Wood<lb></lb>
persons used in the Slat of 13 & 14 Ch & I think<lb></lb>
relates only to the general Woods before used<lb></lb>
of Poor People & does not extend to two person<lb></lb>
joining in taking a Tenemt: therefore the<lb></lb>
Pauper is removed to his pauper Settlemt</p>
