and sat in the Chair, and desired his fellow Servant<lb></lb>

came in about twenty Minutes, and Dept. went up<lb></lb>
with him into Deced's Room when he saw the Deced<lb></lb>
sitting in the Chair, who appeared to be dead, and<lb></lb>
that he saw a great deal of Blood upon the floor<lb></lb>
behind the Chair, Says that he has no reason to<lb></lb>
think that any Person had been in Deced's room<lb></lb>
from the time that he went to call Mr. Nevison until<lb></lb>
he returned, Says that the Deced asked this Dept.<lb></lb>
three or four days ago, if he had seen Mr. Piper and<lb></lb>
Robson in Town Two or three times, and on<lb></lb>
Dept. Answering that he had not, Deced said that he<lb></lb>
was sure they were in Town and that he had seen them<lb></lb>
but Dept. knowing that he had not been out of the House<lb></lb>
for above a week, thought that the Deced was at<lb></lb>
times Delirious</p>

on his Oath saith That on Sunday May 5th. this Dept.<lb></lb>
was sent for to Mr. Shafto the Deced, and went to him<lb></lb>
that Evening and found him exceedingly dejected<lb></lb>
sighing, and complaining of Confusion Giddiness and<lb></lb>
exquisite pain in his Head, Says that upon feeling<lb></lb>
Deced's Pulse and enquiring into other Circumstances Dept.</p>
<p n="663">Dept. found that he had some degree of Fever, and on<lb></lb>
Dept, asking how long he had been subject to that Confusion<lb></lb>
& Giddiness, and how long he had had the pain, Deced said<lb></lb>
that he had more or less had the Giddiness & Confusion<lb></lb>
and his Memory decaying for Six weeks or two months<lb></lb>
and that his pain in his Head has been very Acute<lb></lb>
and hardly to be been for three days, Says that his<lb></lb>
further Enquiring Deced told him that he had been<lb></lb>
afflicted with the Gent and had several fits formerly<lb></lb>
that about two months ago he found a pain in his feet<lb></lb>
and has Bathed them with paid Verjuice, Says that the<lb></lb>
Deced was than absent for a short spoce of time but<lb></lb>
soon recovered himself and<obscured></obscured>

Says that he Ordered a Blister which was put upon Deced<lb></lb>

he found Deced Cooler, but still complained of Giddiness<lb></lb>
& Confusion, but that his pain was somewhat abold, That<lb></lb>
on Thursday the Giddiness was worse, and<del>Deced</del>

Attributed it to the Firing of the Guns on Wednesday<lb></lb>
Says that the Deced appeared some thing better on<lb></lb>
Friday Saturday and Yesterday Morning from<lb></lb>
having had some Sleep and<del>Strengthening</del>
Medicines<lb></lb>
Says that on the Thursday Morning the Deced lames<obscured></obscured>

his less of Memory and Giddiness, Saying that he did<obscured></obscured>

Know this Dept. for eight or ten Minutes after he had<lb></lb>
been in the Room, Says that last Night about Nine<lb></lb>
o'Clock Deced sent for this Dept. again, and on his going<lb></lb>
to Deced, was informed that he had been struck<lb></lb>
that afternoon with a pain, darting through his Head<lb></lb>
Says that he ordered Plaisters to be put to the Soles<lb></lb>
of Deced's feet which he heard were put on last<lb></lb>
night, And that Dept. believes that the Deced was<lb></lb>
not always Master of his Sentiments, and that<lb></lb>
Deced told him that he did not know sometimes<lb></lb>
what he was about for two hours.</p>
