Owner of the Carolina Ship, as a Mariner in January 1770 Says that<lb></lb>
the Deced from his Birth was not able to retain his<lb></lb>
Water, which came from him involuntary but was<lb></lb>
in other Respects well in health, Says that the<lb></lb>
Deced Sailed in the Carolina Ship in May last for the<lb></lb>
Bay of Honduras and returned to Dept. on Saturday<lb></lb>
the 16. day of March last, saying that he had leave to<lb></lb>
stay until Wednesday following, That he went with the<lb></lb>
Deced on that day to Mr. Naters's House who happened<lb></lb>
to be out, That the Deced went up Stairs to Mrs. Richard<lb></lb>
& returned soon saying that he had leave to go back with Dept.<lb></lb>
until the next day, That the Deced went the next<lb></lb>
day with one Jack Johnson and returned the same<lb></lb>
day to Dept. saying that he had a Week's Liberty from his Master<lb></lb>
Says that he staid with Dept. until Tuesday Evening the<lb></lb>
26th. of March when Mr. Naters came there, took the<lb></lb>
Deced by the Collar dragged him along, and said that<lb></lb>
he wold Flog him as long as Flogging was good and<lb></lb>
would afterwards put him in Irons and a Bolt about<lb></lb>
his Neck Says that he went to Mr. Naters's on Thursday<lb></lb>
the 28th. and was told the Deced was very ill, upon<lb></lb>
which Dept. said that he would got him into the Hospital<lb></lb>
and his Master agreed to sent him up on the Sunday Monday<lb></lb>
on Tuesday following Says that on Saturday last between<lb></lb>
three & Four o'Clock in the Afternoon Dept. was informed<lb></lb>
that the Deced was lying at Westmr. Bridge where<lb></lb>
Dept. found him unable to stand, but on being asked<lb></lb>
if he had been Flogged, said, to his Heart, Says that<lb></lb>
he helped to carry Deced in a Chair to the Westmr. Hospital<lb></lb>
Says that the Deced told Dept when he was with him</p>
