the Deced on Friday<lb></lb>
the ninth day of this Instant Septr. in the forenoon Says that he went to Deced at Mrs.<lb></lb>
Mackoun's in <rs type="placeName" id="WACWIC65208_geo1340">Chandors Street</rs>

in said Parish and found as light contused Wound on the back<lb></lb>
part of his Head, Says that on making an Incision into the Scalp a large Fracture appeared<lb></lb>
in the Scull on the back part of the Head in extent about four inches, which Fracture was the<lb></lb>
immediate cause of Deced's Death. And Dept. believes that it was occasioned by Deced felling<lb></lb>
with his Head against some hard Body.</p>

clapped his hand in his Pocket and said that he had lost his Handkerchief upon which he<lb></lb>
Collar'd a Man that stood in the Cro d behind him and charged him with having pick'd his<lb></lb>
Packet which the Man doined, and a very great Cro d soon gathered, Says that he advised<lb></lb>
Deced to let the Man go, which he did and walked on with Dept. under the Piazza in<lb></lb>

Says that the Deced and this Dept. there turned about saying, You Pick pockets & Thieves<lb></lb>
do you want to rob us of more upon which one of the Men immediately with his Hand<lb></lb>
struck the Deced upon his Head which knocked him down upon his Back, and the<lb></lb>
back part of his Head against the Stone Pavement, Says that the Deced lay there<lb></lb>
Speechless and unable to move, and the Man immediately ran away, Says that he<lb></lb>
took up the Deced who continued insensible, and Deced was carried in a Chair to<lb></lb>

and heard Mr. Morris<lb></lb>
who was with the Deced, call a Man that stood near, with some others, Thief & Pick pocket<lb></lb>
upon which the Man stepped up to the Deced and struck him on the left side of his Head<lb></lb>
with his Right hand, and knocked the Deced down, who fell with the back part of his Head<lb></lb>
upon the Stone Pavement where he lay Speechless for a longtime, and the Man immediately<lb></lb>
ran away, upon which a Watchman that stood by with his Rattle alarmed the other<lb></lb>
Watchmen and<gap reason="illegible"></gap>
the Man was soon after brought back and taken to the Watchhouse<lb></lb>

inquire for the Deced, and was informed there yesterday that the Deced died there that<lb></lb>
Morning (Septr. 20) about Ten o'Clock.</p>

lost his Handkerchief but said he could not charge any Person of Robbing him, Several Men being<lb></lb>

down, upon which the Man ran away, and Dept. pursued him and apprehended him Says that<lb></lb>
he with his Rattle alarmed the other Watchmen, who with Dept. took the Man to the Watchhouse.</p>
