chosen, who being then and there duly sworn and charged to enquire for our said Lord the<lb></lb>
King, when, how, and by what Means the said Isabella Bates came to<lb></lb>
h er Death, do upon their Oath say , That the said Isabella Bates, not being of sound<lb></lb>
Mind Memory and Understanding, but lunatick and distracted, on the<lb></lb>
Fourth day of July in the Year aforesaid, at the Parish and in the City<lb></lb>
Liberty and County aforesaid, a large Quantity of Laudanum did then and<lb></lb>
there take drink and swallow down, by Means whereof she the said<lb></lb>
Isabella Bates became then and there sick and distempered in her Body,<lb></lb>
and of the Laudanum aforesaid, being a deadly Poison, and of the Sickness<lb></lb>
and Distemper thereby occasioned, from the said Fourth day of July in the<lb></lb>
Year aforesaid, untill the Fifth day of the same Month, in the same Year,<lb></lb>
at the Parish aforesaid within the City Liberty and County aforesaid, did<lb></lb>
languish and languishing did live, on which said said Fifth day of July<lb></lb>
in the Year aforesaid, at the Parish and in the City Liberty and County<lb></lb>
aforesaid, she the said Isabella Bates of the Poison aforesaid, and of the<lb></lb>
Sickness and Distemper occasioned thereby, did die. And so the Jurors<lb></lb>
aforesaid upon their Oath aforesaid do say, that the said Isabella Bates<lb></lb>
not being of sound Mind Memory and Understanding but lunatick<lb></lb>
and distracted, in Manner and by the Means aforesaid, did Poison and<lb></lb>
kill herself. In Witness whereof as well the said Coroner, as the<lb></lb>
