by trade That about nine o'Clock on<lb></lb>
Friday Morning last Dept. was at the Horse Shoe Public<lb></lb>
House in Benjamin Street aforesaid that in consequence of<lb></lb>
Dept. having been sent for he went to the House of Phineas<lb></lb>
Nunes No.36 <rs type="placeName" id="LMCLIC65009_geo30">Red Lion Street</rs>

where the deced lodged Dept.<lb></lb>
& Mr. Nunes went up Stairs to a three pair of Stairs Room<lb></lb>
wherein the deced lodged that they found the Door shut &<lb></lb>
fastened insideDept. by Mr. Nunes direction forced the<lb></lb>
Door open and went into the Room and found the deced<lb></lb>
lying upon his back on the floor between the Bedside and<lb></lb>
the Wall of the Room that he had a large cut or Wound on<lb></lb>
his Throat under the Chin that a great quantity of blood<lb></lb>
issued from the Wound that he Struggled very much and<lb></lb>
was insensible that the alarm was given and Dept. having left<lb></lb>
the Room returned again immediately and found the deced<lb></lb>
had turned himself on his side that upon examining the deced<lb></lb>
afterewards they found a Pen Knife in the deceds right hand<lb></lb>
that the wound was soon after sewed up and the deced was<lb></lb>
taken to the Hospital. Dept: saw the deced once or twice<lb></lb>
afterwards while at the Hospital that he appeared sensible<lb></lb>
but could not speack Dept. saw the deced about ten oClock<lb></lb>
on Sunday Morning last that he appeared to be dying and<lb></lb>
Dept. has been informed the deced died soon after that when<lb></lb>
Dept. forced the door open it was locked inside that for a fortnight<lb></lb>
before Dept. found the deced as before stated he has seen the deced<lb></lb>
several times<del>and</del>
that he appeared very dull and melancholy<lb></lb>
and when spoke to sometimes would answer & sometimes not<lb></lb>
that the deced the day before Dept. found him as before stated<lb></lb>
