maketh Oath that the about two O Clock Yesterday Morning<lb></lb>
Dept. being on the Watch on the aforesaid Wharf saw a Man<lb></lb>
whom Dept. believes to be the deced go from out of Boat on board<del>from the Wharf to</del>

the Snow Laurel lying the Second Vessel from the said<lb></lb>
Wharfthat he appeared very much intoxicated with<lb></lb>
Liquorthat Dept. left the Wharf and went on board the<lb></lb>
inside Vessel next the Wharf which lay alongside the Israel<lb></lb>
that while Dept. continued these the Man who had got<lb></lb>
out of the boat on board the Laurel & whom Dept. believes<lb></lb>
to be the deced continued on the Death of Laurel a few<lb></lb>
Minutes and appeared very much intoxicated and<lb></lb>
were several Oaths saying he would be <obscured></obscured>
upon by nobody<lb></lb>
Dept. persuaded him to go below to SleepDept. then<lb></lb>
left the Vessel and went to the Wharfafter Dept. had got to<lb></lb>
the Wharf he saw the same Man whom Dept believes to<lb></lb>
be the deced go afterwards to the Comparison of the same<obscured></obscured>

that about ten Minutes before three Depts. having gone<lb></lb>
on board the Laurel for the purpose of keeping none Lighter<lb></lb>
clear that lay near the Laurel & the other vessels that lay<lb></lb>
near the Wharf and while Dept. was leaning over the<lb></lb>
Taffle or Railway belonging to the thorn of the Laurel he<lb></lb>
heard something fall into the Water. Dept. immediately<lb></lb>
inquired after the Man he had seen go on board as before<lb></lb>
stated that upon inquiry a person below on board the Laurel<lb></lb>
sayed the deced was below. but soon after Dept. having<lb></lb>
returned to the Wharf a <rs type="occupation" id="LMCLIC65005_occ661">Mariner</rs>
