they have since their Appointment met once or<lb></lb>
oftner in every week <gap reason="illegible"></gap>
to investigate<lb></lb>
the Affairs of the <rs type="placeName" id="WCCDMV36201_geo127">Workhouse</rs>

-that they have examined<lb></lb>
into all the expensive Articles of it Vizt. Coals, Flour,<lb></lb>
Meat, Wine, Spirits, Cloathing, Malt, & Hops, Grocery<lb></lb>
Candles, Soap, Butter, Cheese, & Porter,</p>
<p n="662">That they have selected the years 1791<lb></lb>
92, 96, & 97 as proper years of Examination the year<lb></lb>
1791 being the first year of the late Master & the years<lb></lb>
94 & 95 being Omitted as being uncommonly severe</p>
<p n="663">That the Committee have found a very<lb></lb>
great & alarming Increase of each of the above<lb></lb>
Articles from the year 1791 to the present time-that the<lb></lb>
Increase of Coals is from 75 Chaldron to 112 Chaldron</p>
<p n="664">That the Increase of Flour is from 180 to 270<lb></lb>
Sacks which has Occasioned the Overseers to discontinue<lb></lb>
Baking for the present and to Contract for the<lb></lb>
Bread</p>
<p n="665">That the Increase of the Batchers Bills<lb></lb>
after allowing for the difference of the Price & the<lb></lb>
Members of the Poor in the difft. Periods is £105 P Annum</p>
