Mr. Alderson One of the Overseers of the Poor of this Parish having<lb></lb>
Reported to this Board that several of the Parishes in this<lb></lb>
Metropolis having found it Necessary to Employ a Surgeon as well<lb></lb>
as an Apothecary to Attend the Poor in their respective <rs type="placeName" id="WCCDMO36103_geo31">Workhouse</rs>

in Order to save the great Expences and other Inconveniences<lb></lb>
Attending their Poor to Different Hospitals And being Informed<lb></lb>
from the best Inquires he Could make that great savings might be<lb></lb>
made thereby A Motion was therefore made by Mr. Alderson and<lb></lb>
Seconded by Mr. Moore that a Plan of the like kind shod. be Adopted<lb></lb>
in this Parish The Board Accordingly took the same into Consideration<lb></lb>
And what Sallarys wod. be proper to allow a Surgeon and an<lb></lb>
Apothecary It was proposed that a Sallary of £40 a year shod. be<lb></lb>
Allowed to a Surgeon on his Undertaking to Provide Salves, Qint<lb></lb>
Oinment and all other Ingreediants Attending Surgery as also<lb></lb>
to Lay down<gap reason="illegible"></gap>
all such Persons as are Afflicted<lb></lb>
with the Veneride Disease And to Cure them thereof as far as<lb></lb>
lays in his Power And further that a Sallary of £60 a year Shod.<lb></lb>
be allowed to an Apothecary for his Attendance on the Poor And<lb></lb>
providing them with fit and proper Medicines According to<lb></lb>
their sevl. Disorders to the Utmost of his Abilities; Messengers<lb></lb>
were Accordingly sent to a Surgeon &<obscured></obscured>
Dr. Hawes the former<gap reason="illegible"></gap>

being at Home and Attending this Boards he Accepted such a<lb></lb>
Salary as proposed Dr. Hawes being Engaged on other Business<lb></lb>
Cod. not Attend therefore the Deputy Vestry Clk was Ordered to<lb></lb>
write to him to Attend this Board tomorrow Evening at 6 o Clock<lb></lb>
to know his Sentiments thereon And on the Question being put It<lb></lb>
was Agreed that the like Plans as other Parishes shod. be Adopted If<lb></lb>
a Vestry shod. Approve and Confirm the same.</p>
