the long diligent and faithful Services of Mrs. Mary Lapthorne the <rs type="occupation" id="BBBRMG20208_occ3361">Matron</rs>

of this Hospital for upwards of Twenty Five Years past are of Opinion<lb></lb>
that a Gratuity of Twenty Pounds will be reasonable and proper to be<lb></lb>
given her for her past Services All which is submitted to the Judgment<lb></lb>
of the Court and Ordered to be reported at the next Court- This Court<lb></lb>
having weighed and duly considered the said Report Doth Confirm the<lb></lb>
same and Order that the Clerk do pay the said Mrs. Lapthorn Twenty<lb></lb>
Pounds to be allowed him in his next Account.</p>

That Humble Petition of Your Worships four Beadles and<lb></lb>
Porters ManSheweth. That Your Petitioners Salaries Gratuity<lb></lb>
Fees Watch Etc amounts to the following Sums P Ann Vizt. First<lb></lb>
Beadle Twenty Nine Pounds Eighteen ShillingsSecond Beadle<lb></lb>
Twenty Nine Pounds Eighteen Shillings Third Beadle Twenty<lb></lb>
Pounds thirteen Shillings Fourth Beadle Twenty One Pounds<lb></lb>
Seven Shillings - Porters Man Twenty two Pounds three Shillings<lb></lb>
That Your Petitioners have each of them a Blue Coat two Shirts<lb></lb>
and two Chaldron of Coals every Year - That it is well known to your<lb></lb>
Worships that Provisions as well as every other Necessary of Life is<lb></lb>
at present and has been a long time at a very high Rate which<lb></lb>
renders Your Petitioners incapable of providing for themselves and<lb></lb>
Families Your Petitioners therefore most humbly pray your Worships<lb></lb>
that you will pleased to make such Addition to their Salaries as<lb></lb>
to your Worships shall seem meetAnd Your Petitioners Etc<lb></lb>
It is the Opinion of this Committee that considering the smallness<lb></lb>
of the said Beadles & Porters Man's Sallary the Dearness of all Sorts<lb></lb>
of Provisions That instead of the Gratuity of Four pounds usually<lb></lb>
given them every Year that the further Sum of Six Pounds be<lb></lb>
added thereto so as to make each of the Beadles and Porters Marts<lb></lb>
Gratuity Ten Pounds All which is Nevertheless submitted to the<lb></lb>
Judgement of the Court and Ordered to be reported at the next Court<lb></lb>
This Court having weighed and duly considered the said Report Doth confirm<lb></lb>
the same and Order that the Clerk do pay the said Beadles & Porters Man<lb></lb>
the said Gratuity of Ten Pounds each to be allowed him in his next Account</p>
