<p n="2616">In Pursuance of an Order of Court the 29th. June last This Committee look into<lb></lb>
Consideration the several Matters thereby referred to them And have enquired into the<lb></lb>
Fees paid upon the Admission of Patients into Bethlem Hospital & find them as follows</p>
<p n="2617">To the Clerk{<lb></lb>
for a Petition and Certificate£-..3..-<lb></lb>
on Signing the Bond-..11..6</p>
<p n="2618">To the Steward for Bedding1..14..6</p>
<p n="2619">To the Servt.{<lb></lb>
Box Money to them in General-..10..6<lb></lb>
Basket Man for Enquiring after Securities-..1..-<lb></lb>

<p n="2620">Upon Considering which is the most proper Method of reducing these Fees.<lb></lb>
Your Comittee have chiefly Consulted the relief of Private Famalies. proposing to leave<lb></lb>
those Patients who are brought to them from Parishes & publick Offices upon the Old<lb></lb>
Establishment till such time as they shall have most effectually Provided for the others.</p>
<p n="2621">In Order to Accomplish so desireable a Purpose they beg leave to Submit the follontg. <lb></lb>
Resolution to the Consideration of the Court</p>
<p n="2622"> <note type="authorial" place="margin">1st</note>
<lb></lb>
That if it shall please the Court to make an Addition to the Salary of the Clerk<lb></lb>
of this Hospital, The Fees Usually Demanded & received by him, on Granting Petitions<lb></lb>
and Certificates & on Signing the Bond entred into at the Admission of Patients shall be no<lb></lb>
longer Demanded or received by Him.</p>

<lb></lb>
That the Fees usually Demanded & received on Account of the Servts. of the Hospl.<lb></lb>
be continued to them on the Present footing but that they be paid by the Hospl. and not<lb></lb>
by the Patients.</p>

<lb></lb>
That the Steward of the Hospital, for the future may Demand and Recense<lb></lb>
for every Patient who is Admitted into the Hospital at his own Expence Or that of<lb></lb>
his Family the Sum of £2..2..- & no more to Defray the Charge of Bedding<lb></lb>
& for the Use of the House</p>

That He may Demand & Receive for every Patient brought into the Hospital,<lb></lb>
from any Parish or Publick Office the Sum of £3..-..6 to Defray the Charges of<lb></lb>
Bedding and for the Use of the Hospital.</p>
<p n="2626"> <note type="authorial" place="margin">5thly</note>
<lb></lb>
That such an Alteration may be made in the Certificates brought to this Hospital<lb></lb>
as will be Sufficient to Ascertain whether the Patient is one of the Poor belonging to any<lb></lb>
Parish or Not.</p>
<p n="2627">This is all your Comittee have thought it Prudent for them to do at precent<lb></lb>
but they are not without hopes that a farther reduction may be brought about from the<lb></lb>
Experience of another year All which is nevertheless Submitted to the Judgment of the<lb></lb>
Court And It is Ordered that this Opinion be reported to the next Court.</p>
<p n="2628">This Court having duly weighed and Considered the said Report doth<lb></lb>
Order That the sd. Report be referred back to the said Comittee to Reconsider the same<lb></lb>
and Report their Opinion to the Court.</p>
