behaved himself very Disrepect fully towards the President and Comittee<lb></lb>
which is Submitted to the CourtAnd upon Reading the Humble Petition<lb></lb>
of the sd. Robert Hadwen SettingforthThat the Petr. having been an<lb></lb>

above 13 years has to the best of his Knowledged Obey'd all the<lb></lb>
Orders of the Court and Comittees concerning his own Deportment and his Care<lb></lb>
of his apprentices with Regard to their Religious and Moral behaviour and<lb></lb>
never had any Complaints made against for which he Appeals to all his<lb></lb>
Neighbours & to the books and Officers of the HospitalBut on Wednesday<lb></lb>
the 5th. Instant the Petr. was on a Sudain called before The Right Worshipfull<lb></lb>
the President and Comittee then Sitting not knowing upon what Occasion Or<lb></lb>
that he was Occused of any Transgression And being Askd Sevl questions about his<lb></lb>
Apprentices made confused rude Answers without Intention to give any Manner<lb></lb>
of Offence And in Surprize Scarce knowing what he said whereby he has<lb></lb>
justly incurr'd their great Displeasure for wch he is under the Deepest contrition<lb></lb>
and humbly beggs Pardon of them And of all the Governors & promises he<lb></lb>
will never again be Guilty of the like or any Disrespect or want of Duty to<lb></lb>
them or any of themAnd therefore humbly prays to be forgiven this first Offence<lb></lb>
Mr. President was pleased to declare he Apprehended the Petr Misbehaviour<lb></lb>
Receed more from Ignorance than Intention and was willing for his own part to forgive<lb></lb>
Him and sevl. of the Comittee here present also Declareing they was willing to<lb></lb>
Admonished to take more Care of his behaviour for the future.</p>
<p n="1888">A Motion being made that the Thanks of this Court be given to Mr.<lb></lb>
President and the Comittee of this House for the Great Care & pains he & they have<lb></lb>
taken in Examineing into the late Riots Comitted by the Apprentices of this Hospl.<lb></lb>
and the Regulations they have drawn up for the behaviour of the Artsmasters &<lb></lb>
their Apprentices And of the Beadles to prevent the like disorders for the future<lb></lb>
It was unanimously Orderd & done Accordingly.</p>

Upon Reading an Order of Court the 22d. June 1716 as follows VizThat all<lb></lb>
Petitions for Artsmasters for the future be referr'd to the Cous of the Comittee of this<lb></lb>
House some Convenient true before any Election of Artsmasters be Appointed That<lb></lb>
the Comittee may Enquire after the Petrs. and report to the Court<gap reason="illegible"></gap>
what<lb></lb>
Character they hear of them And that an Advertisement may be Published before<lb></lb>
any Artsmaster are chosenIt is now Orderd the same be Revived<lb></lb>
with this Addition that the Advertisement shall be Published 14 days at Least<lb></lb>
before the Election of an Artsmaster.</p>
<p n="1890">Orderd that it be referrd to the Comittee of this House to consider what would be<lb></lb>
a Proper time to be Limitted for filling up the Vacancy of an ArtsmasterAnd to<lb></lb>
Enquire how many Apprentices each Artsmaster now has & how many he ought to<lb></lb>
have According to the Convenience of his Appartment, And how the Number of<lb></lb>
Apprentices in this Hospital has happend to be Diminished.</p>
