<p n="1023">hitherto been made for their Support by the Publick Notwithstanding they are in<lb></lb>
themselves the most helpless and Deplorable objects of Charity and to their<lb></lb>
Neighbours most Expensive and Dangerous; Upon these Considerations the<lb></lb>
Governors of Bethlem Hospital (Ever ready to Promote Acts of Charity) made<lb></lb>
Application to the Mayor Comonalty and Citizens of the City of London for<lb></lb>
a Grant of a Price of Ground in Moorfeilds (Part wherof was a Common<lb></lb>
Footway) in Order to Build Appartments for Harbouring One hundred<lb></lb>
Incurable Lunatick Half men & half Women which Grant they have lately<lb></lb>
Obtained; and they have also obtained His Majestys Royal License for<lb></lb>
Inclosing the said Foot way for the Purpose aforesaid And have began to<lb></lb>
Build thereon out of some Benefaction already Given for that Use: But the<lb></lb>
said Governors cannot Perfect the same & raise a Fund for the Maintenance<lb></lb>
of such Incurable Lunaticks and necessary Attendants without the Assistance<lb></lb>
of well Disposed Persons Now Therefore Well whose Names are hereunto<lb></lb>
Subscribed have Voluntarily Contributed and paid the Several Sumes of<lb></lb>
money by us respectively Underwritten for and towards the Advancing and<lb></lb>
Carrying on of a Charity so great and well Designed Hoping that they<lb></lb>
who Enjoy the Blessing of a Right mind, will lend their Assistance to them<lb></lb>
who are ever like to Want itThis Court Approved thereof And<lb></lb>
it is Order'd that the same to Advertized in the News Papers in such<lb></lb>
manner as Mr. Treasurer shall think fittAnd that the said Book<lb></lb>
be kept by Mr. Treasurer & that two Copys be made thereof One to bye<lb></lb>
at Bridewell & the others at Bethlem Hospital</p>
