<p n="3101">Alderman and president of the said hospital acquainted this Court That<lb></lb>
the president and Governor had taken all imaginable (are to prevent the said<lb></lb>
Blew Coat Boys from going out on any publick night and laid Several Orders<lb></lb>
made by ye said president and Governor. for preventing ye Same before this<lb></lb>
Court which being read It appeared that ye Twenty Ninth day of August<lb></lb>
one Thousand Seven hundred and Ten Several Boys being complained of to have<lb></lb>
Comitted Disorders were by the Comee ordered to be Sett at work at ye<lb></lb>
Hempblocks till next CourtThat ye first of Septemr. One thousand Seven<lb></lb>
hundred and en on Complaint of the Inhabitants of Cheap ward all the<lb></lb>
apprentice were ordered by ye Court Continue to pass Thro' before them who pitch ten<lb></lb>
Several who were Sent to the Hempblocks That on ye fifth of Septemr<lb></lb>
they were Sent for and examined and the Ring Leader ordered to the<lb></lb>
Hempblock That ye fifteenth of Septemr. one thousand seven hundred &<lb></lb>
Ten on a Report from ye Comee The Court ordered Seaven to have ye<lb></lb>
Correction of the house and the Cheife Kingleaders to be Stript of their<lb></lb>
Clothing and totally discharged the house That on ye fourth of Novemr.<lb></lb>
1715. on a Letter from ye Lord Townsend complaining that Several of the<lb></lb>
Boys had been disorderly the Comee attended his Lordship and it appeared<lb></lb>
the Complaint arose from the Boys being out on the Kings Coronation day<lb></lb>
and the princes Birth day That ye Beadles kept ye Gates Shutt and attended<lb></lb>
ye Yard as they had been frequently ordered But the Boys got out and<lb></lb>
blew up ye Gates Whereupon the Artsmasters were Sent for and were<lb></lb>
told by Mr president that for want of their Care to keep ye Boys at home<lb></lb>
as they had been often charged by ye Comee and Messages from him<lb></lb>
Complaint had been made of Riotts which had rea<obscured></obscured>
his Majesties Ears<lb></lb>
that the fault was in ye Artsmasters and charged them to keep their<lb></lb>
apprentices at work on holydays and permitt them to play the next<lb></lb>
day and to render an account from time to time to ye Treasurer or<lb></lb>
Come of Such as Should go out That ye Boys also were reprimanded<lb></lb>
by Mr president and told they Should not Stir out on Holy days but<lb></lb>
Should play ye next day and the Beadles and Porter were charged to<lb></lb>
keep The Gates Shutt on Holydayes and to give an account of Such as<lb></lb>
they Should See out of their Masters houses on those days which<lb></lb>
care had so good an effect that for Sometime none of the Boys<lb></lb>
were out on holyday nights That the 18th of May following</p>
