493. WILLIAM HOLMES proceedingsdefend was indicted for feloniously stealing, on the 7th day of April last, one quart pewter pot, value 2 s. the property of Mary Bates proceedingsvictim .

And CORNELIUS BANFIELD proceedingsdefend was indicted for feloniously receiving the same, knowing it to have been stolen .

The prisoner Holmes came into the house, and went away soon after, and they missed their pot, he confessed taking the pot, but there was no evidence against Banfield for receiving.

WILLIAM HOLMES < no role > , GUILTY .

To be privately whipped .

CORNELIUS BANFIELD < no role > , NOT GUILTY .

Tried by the first Middlesex Jury before Mr. Baron EYRE < no role > .
