I keep the Goat and Star in Pall-Mall
. I saw the two prisoners coming along Pall-Mall; the woman, Stevens, took up a quart pot, and she sent the little girl, Allen, to take up another; I followed them a little way, and then I seized them both, and took two of my pots from them.
(They were produced in court, and deposed to by the prosecutor.)
How old is the child? - Nine years old. I have lost fourteen pounds worth of pots within three months.
[The prisoners did not say any thing in their defence.]
