lost. The Evidence depos'd, That having a Suspicion of the Prisoner, they serv'd a Warrant on him, upon which he immediatelyconfess'd, and restor'd the Goods. The Prisoner said in his Defence, That (being a Tayler
) he had bought some Cloaths that Day, and afterwards meeting with some Friends, drank pretty plentifully; after which, going to enter some South-Sea Bills at Mr. Ward's, he took (he believ'd) the Goods for his own, which he had lost. He had several credible Witnesses to his good Behaviour, but his Defence not being sufficient, he was found
Guilty
of Felony.
