Mary Thare proceedingsdefend , of the Parish of St. Giles in the Fields , was indicted for privately Stealing a Pair of Serge-Curtains, out of the Shop of Wil. Jones proceedingsvictim , on the 12th of Oct. last . The Prosecutor said, That he was gone out when the Fact was done, and could not say any thing to it. Another Evidence said, He saw her come out of the Shop with something in her Lap, and pursuing her, took her in an Ale-house with the Goods. She denied the Fact, saying, She bought them of a Woman; which she could not prove. The Jury found her guilty to the value of 10 d.
