Elizabeth Groves proceedingsdefend , was indicted for a Cheat, for cheating one Mary Vaughan proceedingsvictim Widow , by leaving several Parcels with her in pawn, telling her they were filled with Silk, whereas they were filled with Brick-bats and Stones . The Prosecutor said she came 8 several times to her, and that she had lent her, at several times, 27 l. 15 s. desiring her not to look into it, saying it would spoil the Silk if it should take Air: Which Fact was fully proved against her, the Jury found her guilty .
