Examination Text | John Macklin aged 59 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields passed from the Parish of St. George in the County of Middlesex upon his oath saith the served seven years apprenticeship to Thomas Bennet a Peruke Maker in Eagle Court in White Hart Yard in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields aforesaid, that after the death of his said Master he this Examinant intermarried with his mistress (the widow of his said Master) and continued to live in and rent the said house in Eagle Court for the space of two years and an half at the yearly rent of 4 pounds besides taxes, the lease of the said house being a purchase of his said mast late Master, quitted the same [blank] years ago, that he hath not kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor have been a yearly hired servant since, that he was married his present wife Alice at the Parish Church of St Martin in the Fields about 35 years ago.
