Examination TextThe Examination of Frances Glison lodging at Mr Mercers in St Martin's Court in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields taken this 20th Day of May in the year 1785. This Examinant on her oath saith that she is 27 years of age, that she is the wife of James Glison (gone from her) to who she was married at the Parish Church of St Martin in the Fields the third Day of November last, that her said husband is a Taylor by trade, that she never heard where her said husband was born, that he never did any act to gain a settlement to this Examinant's knowledge, that she this Examinant never was bound an apprentice, that she was before she intermarried to her said husband a yearly hired servant to Mr Grant a Taylor in St Martin's Court aforesaid for the space of three years at the yearly wages of 4 pounds diet and lodging, and then intermarried to her said husband, that she hath one child by her said husband to wit James George aged three months now with this Examinant.
