Examination Text | Thomas Combes aged 29 years and upwards removed (with his wife and their child) by an order of removal from the Parish of St Margaret within the liberty of Westminster to the Parish of St Martin in the Fields in the said liberty on his oath saith that he was by the Governors of the Blue Coat Charity School Westminster bound an apprentice by an indenture for seven years to George Harrison a Butcher in Castle Court in the said Parish St Martin in the Fields and there served his said Master all the said term, which expired about eight years ago, that he never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together since, that he was married his present wife Sarah at the Parish Church of St Leonard at Shoreditch about seven years ago by whom he hath one child living to wit Charlotte aged 11 months. Sworn the third Day of January 1784 before Thomas Bullard. |
