Examination Text | The Examination of Elizabeth Dodd lodging at a house in Crown Court in Long Acre in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields taken this 13th Day of February in the year 1783. This Examinant on her oath saith that she is 38 years of age, that she is the wife of Archibald Charles Dodd (gone from her four years) to whom she was married at the Parish Church of St. Mary in the town of Nottingham the 14th Day of June in the year 1769, that her said husband was an Auctioneer and Broker and lived in and rented an house near Denmark Court in the Strand in the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields for the space of about one year and an half at the yearly rent of 260 pounds besides taxes [sic], quitted the same about five years ago, that he her said husband hath not kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year nor paid any parish taxes since to this Examinant's knowledge.
