| Examination Text | Benjamin Castang aged 38 years removed from the Parish of St. George Hanover Square by an order of removal to the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon his oath saith that he was bound an apprentice by an indenture for seven years to Mr Sheldon a Carpenter in Hungerford Street in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields and there served his said Master about six years and an half, and then parted by consent, that he never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together since the expiration of his said apprenticeship which is 17 years ago. Sworn the third Day of January 1783 before William Hyde. |
