Examination TextThe Examination of Charlotte Veal in the workhouse of the Parish of St. James within the liberty of Westminster taken this [blank] Day of October 1781. This Examinant on her oath saith that she is about 40 years of age, that she never was married, that she was on her 20th Day of August in the 1774 delivered at the house of Mr Birnell a Baker in Hedge Lane in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields within the said liberty of a female bastard child (since christened Elizabeth) yet living and now removed by an order of two of his Majesty's Justices of the Peace from the said Parish of St. James. Sworn the [blank] Day of October 1781 before [blank].
