Examination TextThomas Gregory aged 38 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields removed by an order of two of his Majesty's Justices of the Peace from the Parish of St Anne within the liberty of Westminster in the County of Middlesex upon his oath saith that he was bound an apprentice by an indenture bearing the date the 19th Day of December in the year 1758 for seven years to James Thorley of St Martin's Lane in the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields Joiner and there served his said Master all the said term out which expired about 17 years ago, that he hath not kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year nor paid any parish taxes since, that he was married to his present wife Martha at the Parish Church of St Clement Danes within the liberty of Westminster the 31st Day of December in the year 1765 by whom he hath four children to wit Ann aged about 13 years, that the said Ann never was bound an apprentice nor a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together, Edward aged about seven years, Louisa aged about two years and an half and Sarah aged about eleven months all now with this Examinant.
